Voting is important in a Democracy and we should be encouraging young people to vote rather than making it more difficult.

Most important: This bill ensures that no eligible voter is denied the right to vote. SB438 bill would allow the Department of Safety and the Secretary of State (SOS) to create a process for sharing specific information regarding Real ID applicants. It authorizes the Department of Safety and the Secretary of State to establish a process for sharing certain information about REAL ID applicants.

This bill would make it easier for people to resolve any issues keeping them from registering to vote. Support.

I support this bill because I think this bill helps ensure that no eligible voter is denied the right to vote.

How many of your bills this year will actually help more people participate in our democracy? Not many. This will not only help people be involved but will take cost/effort out of government, saving us money.

I support the sharing of information between the Department of Safety and the Secretary of State's office for the purpose of verifying voter registration.

This bill places barriers to voting for college students and is discriminatory. A deliberate attempt to disenfranchise them. I am against this bill. Please vote against it.

I support SB?438 because it allows the Department of Safety to securely share REAL?ID citizenship information with the Secretary of State to help verify voter eligibility. This measure strengthens the accuracy of our voter registration database while protecting individuals’ ability to prove citizenship in a reliable, secure way. Ensuring both election integrity and access to the ballot builds public confidence in our democratic process.

Enabling the department of safety and the secretary of state to develop a process to share certain information regarding REAL ID applicants will allow some eligible voters to vote, when they otherwise might be turned away on election day.

I submit this testimony for the benefit of NH residents.

This will help head off the SAVE ACT suite of bills currently under consideration by Congress, which would require mostly married women with a name change to present a passport and birth certificate when registering to vote.

The NH legislature has passed so many laws making it harder for citizens in our state to vote. I support the sharing of data between the Department of Safety and the Secretary of State when it will help the SOS verify the accuracy of information in the centralized voter registration database using information already provided by citizens to the state.
