Please support this bill to ensure the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has the dollars to keep SNAP running. Without this bill, over 76,000 New Hampshire residents will lose access to SNAP - and to food. We must make the necessary state investment to ensure that SNAP remains fully operational.

I coordinate a Food Pantry in Durham, NH and see the need first hand for the continuation of SNAP benefits! The number of patrons we serve has steadily increased since last spring.

Food security should not be a political issue. SNAP benefits primarily keep children from going hungry and should be fully funded even when the federal government is unwilling or unable to do so. State and local government have no more fundamental mandate than to take care of the most vulnerable. Please support HB 1750.

Poor people need to have good and sufficient food.

Let’s make sure that people in New Hampshire do not go hungry and that they are not forced to choose between food and shelter or food and healthcare, for instance.

There are 76,000 Granite Staters who rely on SNAP in some way. They deserve to be able to eat without fear. This is exactly thw kind of society I want to be a part of. The kind that actually take care of each other and make sure that every can survive AND thrive. This gets us one step closer to that utopia. A very good, meaningful, necessary, step closer.

I worked as the Market Manager for the Keen Farmers Market. I ran the SNAP Double Up Veggie Bucks stand. I saw how very important to FARMERS this program is!! People need to eat healthy, fresh foods. FARMERS need to sell what they grow. SNAP allows that to happen. SNAP is a win-win program for hungry people and for FARMERS!

SNAP benefits are vital to the success and well-being of New Hampshire families - and that success leads directly to economic success for the state. SNAP is an investment, not an unrecoverable expense, and funding should be maintained.

It makes sense to make sure our students have the nutrition they need to make the most of their education. I know I’m not at my cognitive best when I am hungry.

It should be considered a basic function of government to make sure every resident has adequate nutrition, no matter their age, or social status.

It is important that we keep SNAP running after a decrease in federal cost-sharing. Without this bill, over 76,000 New Hampshire residents will lose access to SNAP—and to food.

People in New Hampshire are hungry. There is no excuse for this in one of the wealthiest States. We have a moral responsibility to care for our people even though the federal government has failed to do so.

I am a farmer and SNAP vendor. The benefits of this program to my customers is enormous. Making fresh local food affordable to those who need it most is a foundational value of our farm.

Food security is fundamental for goo citizenship. We must ensure that SNAP remains fully operational in NH.
