The purpose of the commission is not in the interest of serving public education . Our public schools are already grossly underfund and local tax revenue shoul.l stay in the public school system.

This is wrong. Not so subtle attempt to remove local control. VOTE NO.

New Hampshire needs to smarten up and support quality public schools, not undermine them consistently.

Please ITL HB 1712. It is an ill-conceived effort to further dismantle our public schools. If you truly want to save money, repeal the "no limits" payments to fund private and parochial schools with tax payer dollars. Thank you.

Public schools need our support.

As a parent of three school aged sons, I support NH public schools and do not want to see changes that will move education in NH towards a charter school system.

Please don’t further weaken Public Education . I don’t want my public schools converted to private. My tax dollars. My public Education.

I oppose this bill. It removes local control over their school district. Changing public schools to charter schools is not the answer we need to address education in NH, and lowering the threshold to allow this to happen for easily is unnecessary. Please vote this down.

I oppose HB 1712.

This bill seems like yet another attempt to bend over backwards to avoid properly and adequately funding public schools as was ruled by our state Supreme Court. We also have no accountability for the charter/private schools that are getting our voucher money now. Those two issues should be sorted out before any attempt to flip our public schools into "for profit" hands.

I strongly oppose House Bill 1712 - the “Countering Hate And Revolutionary Leftist Indoctrination in Education Act" because it does not attempt to do what it claims. We counter hate by supporting equality and civil rights and by recognizing the mistakes our country has made in the past so we can do better going forward. To try to take away what really happened in history and pretend things like racism and slavery never existed is a boldface lie. To say that teaching LGBTQ+ and gender identity promotes division is absurd when it does the opposite. Instead of dividing, it helps us understand and support one another better. That brings people together and doesn't divide them. Our children need to be taught authentic and accurate history, civics, and social issues so that they understand where we are coming from and how to move forward as one people, united as we are.

This bill is not in line with how our schools should be run and undermines our public’ education system in NH.

Why has there been no repercussions for Kristin Noble wanting to segregate our schools?

This bill will continue to hurt public education.

Our public schools are the backbone of our Country...and always have been. They are accessible to all families....not just the upper 10%

I urge you to vote no on this bill, which is just one more in a long line of bills that seek to undermine funding for New Hampshire's public schools. As a school board member, public school educator, and the parent of a public school student, I know how important our public schools are. Vote no on easing the conversion of public schools into charter schools and committing local property tax dollars to those that are newly established.

I urge you to strengthen and improve our already existing public schools. I oppose this legislation.

Dear House Committee Members (and anyone else reading this testimony), I urge you to vote HB 1712 Inexpedient to Legislate. This bill is sponsored SOLELY by Kristin Noble, Chairman of this very committee. She is a representative who did not attend college, earn a college degree, or ever provide any evidence of having received a high school diploma, never mind any specialized knowledge, training, education, or certification in education pedagogy and/or administration. However, Kristin Noble is the same representative that proposed segregated schools in a private Signal chat discussing 2026 education policy (a clear violation of RSA91a). Whether proposing segregation by race, ideology or party affiliation, the Speaker of the House, or the legislative body as a whole, should immediately remove Ms. Noble from this committee or at the very least, from her Chair position on this committee for directly violating RSA 91a along with all four of the basic Principles of Public Service as noted in the New Hampshire General Court Ethics Statutes and Procedural Rules. How can any member of the public be expected to trust any member of this party, if the party and the leader allow any one of their own members to violate the very rules they have set for themselves like this and for so long? Beyond that, this bill would allow local public schools to convert to charter schools and stop providing all transportation, food services, special education programs and supports, and all other specialized services required by public schools. Also, collective bargaining for faculty and staff would become more difficult and these positions would receive lower wages, less qualified employees and higher turnover rates. Students, families, staff and communities would lose. Please don’t pass this damaging bill. Thank you in advance for your clear and unbiased consideration of this bill, and for voting in a way that best favors the majority interest of the 87% of your Granite State constituents that currently send their children to public schools.

Please concentrate on properly funding our public schools

Stop politicizing education and eroding local control! Charter schools draw funding away from public schools without holding charters to adequate performance and financial scrutiny
