Compounds such as nitrous oxide should never be available for non-medical use. Its addictive qualities make it even more dangerous. This bill should pass because we must protect people whose ability to determine the dangers from such are thing, due to lack of knowledge or who may be under the influence of other addictive drugs, is a necessary part of governments job.

I support HB1630 because restricting the sale of nitrous oxide and similar inhalants for recreational use helps reduce preventable harm. I encourage the committee to ensure the bill is narrowly tailored so it does not interfere with legitimate medical or industrial applications.

I know young people who have or have had a severe addiction to Nitrous Oxide. I believe restricting the availability of this harmful drug Will benefit our community.

I was horrified when I learned that “galaxy gas” was flavored and being sold to young people. I don’t agree with the war on drugs, but these canisters are obviously marketed to young people and huffing literally kills.

This life-saving medicine has no place as a recreational drug. Please support this bill to protect the health and well-being of our residents. Sincerely, Michele Chalice

The testimonies that you receive about this bill should be more than enough to convince you that nitrous oxide is not for recreation and is particularly dangerous as marketed toward minors. This is a chance to close up a truly dangerous loophole, protect children and prevent addiction.

This bill supports the health and safety of our citizens, especially young people. No one should be able to purchase and use harmful substances like nitrous oxide for recreational purposes. Leave the use of these items in the hands of medical professionals trained in their use.
