It's not fair to charge children to ride their bikes or charge adults who may not be able to afford a other means to get to work.

I oppose this bill as it is unethical to require that of every house when vehicles already cost so much to register and each family typically has 2 vehicles to register each year

I have Autism with Asperger’s syndrome, and I do not have a driver’s license or a car, which I am trying to afford. How am I supposed to get to places like work? What if my parents aren’t around anymore? You better start thinking serious smart about what you are doing before you bring a bill that makes no sense.

There is no need to pay a registration fee to own a bike. We complain that children do not spend enough time outside so how would making it almost impossible for them to ride their bike help?

Charging for children and families to pay to use trails is an aweful idea of ways to earn $. Perhaps you can ask for donations for the trails but don't discourage families from riding in safe places and forcing them to solely ride in dangerous road areas... this may cause increased accidents and fatality of a child.

I believe this bills is completely unnecessary considering bicyclist do no damage to roadways or trails so they should not be required to register there bike. This is asinine to think they should be forced to register a bike that is used for mostly FUN! Get a grip nh

A Few Reasons Why I Oppose HB1703: -A family of four with four bikes would pay $200 per year, discouraging parents from buying bikes for their children -Registration fees and penalties would discourage bicycling, undermining public health, quality of life, and tourism (unclear if out of state riders would need to register if bringing a bike in) -It would disproportionately affect people who rely on bicycles as their primary mode of transportation, especially those with limited incomes -The cost of implementing the registration program may exceed the revenue it generates; the fiscal note states that revenues cannot be determined -Many cyclists own multiple bikes, which would further raise costs on cyclists to enjoy this sport -Unless the registration sticker is displayed on your bike, I see no way how this bill does not give law enforcement carte-blanche to pull riders over to check their registration status

I am vehemently opposed to the $50 bike registration bill as this would hurt NH residents for exercise, getting outside and a form of transportation for a lot who have no other means of getting to work ???????????? Roy C

This bill would be a large burden to many families in nh. Most families with young children have multiple bikes and would have to pay hundreds if dollars for registration. Also NH attracts 1000’s of tourists with bikes enforcing fines would reduce tourism and cripple tax paying businesses like highland mountain bike park and the ski areas that use bike tourists summer revenue. This bill will hurt kids and NH
