Due to significant cost of living and the impact excessive childcare costs has on families I support this bill.

HB1433 - creating a child care tax credit for qualifying businesses. Support. HB1433 overview. Hearing: 10:00am, GP 159 (House Ways and Means): For many struggling families in NH, child care is so unaffordable that it keeps one or bith parents out of the workforce.

Child care access is critical for workforce participation. This bill is helpful, but should be paired with safeguards to ensure small businesses and low-wage workers benefit equitably

I have two young children currently attending daycare/requiring childcare and without this vibrant community of ours, such resources would not exist. Our daycare providers are incredible and the way that they support families in our community through education and guidance is invaluable. This bill needs to remain priority as we collectively try to support families during the early years of childhood education.

As a mother and physician, it was extremely important to me to find good child care. But I could afford it. If businesses would and could more easily assist in keeping women.. And men.. in the work force this would IMPROVE the economy overall... Keeping good workers is a priority.

The Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce, representing 450 business memberes, has identified available and affordable childcare as one of its top priorities in contributing to business growth and stability. The Chamber supports this bill, and asks that the House Ways and Means Committee does as well.

We need to create and/or expand child care programs and allowing a tax credit covering 50% of eligible expenses helps us as a society to address some of the workforce challenges while expanding access to quality care for working families. I dealt with accessing child care in the early 1980's and although it was challenging then, it is even more challenging now. Less available options and higher prices make it very difficult for working parents to remain in the workforce as well as for providers to be able to provide quality care at a reasonable rate.

I am a grammie with 8 grandkids. They are so fortunate that they have parents who can provide for their family but its not always easy and the struggles with daycare and the costs of daycare, especially when there's multiple kids is a regular discussion. When my oldest grandkids were old enough they were in an employer sponsored daycare situation that was a huge help, especially being located within walking distance of their workplace. But eventually the company no longer provided daycare and was so difficult to find new daycares. Now those same kids are in high school but my younger grandkids are entering daycare. Its even more expensive now. I don't know how other families cope. I think of my relatives who are single moms with kids and everyone else who is trying so hard. There should be better support for families. I believe support for businesses to create better day care options for employees is an excellent start. I ask for your SUPPORT for HB 1433 to get that support to our NH families with young children. Thank you.

This is a common-sense economic development tool that addresses the single greatest barrier to workforce participation in New Hampshire: the lack of accessible child care. With nearly 10,000 Granite State children lacking a licensed child care slot, we are effectively sidelining thousands of capable workers. This bill recognizes that the private sector is a critical partner in expanding capacity. By providing a 50% tax credit for the construction and operation of child care facilities, we move beyond simply subsidizing the cost of care and begin incentivizing the actual creation of new seats. While this is a strong step, the committee should ensure that these credits are accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises, not just major corporations. Furthermore, the final language must maintain strict adherence to state licensing standards to ensure that "expanded capacity" does not come at the expense of child safety and quality of care. This is a fiscally sound investment that will pay for itself many times over by allowing parents to return to the workforce and contributing to the overall growth of our state's economy.

I strongly support this bill. NH is becoming a 'graying' state. Young families often are simply unable to find day care or to afford day care. This bill will support businesses considering making day care available, through a tax credit. Please support this initiative!

I strongly support this bill. NH is becoming a 'graying' state because it is too expensive for young families to have housing and child care, or child care is simply unavailable. This bill will help businesses support child care programs through a tax credit. Please support this bill!

Parents cannot use this tax credit. This appears to be exclusively beneficial relative to businesses BET or BPT.

Providing incentives in the form of tax credits for businesses who support child care is good for the child care industry, for families, and for employers. Please support this bill.

NH needs to encourage young adults to stay in or move to the state. It will not happen without affordable childcare!

I support this bill in order to incentivize businesses to create or expand child care programs through a tax credit covering 50% of eligible expenses, enabling employers to address workforce challenges while expanding access to quality care for working families. The cost of childcare is high and we need to keep subsidizing the cost in order to support families and improve the working landscape for those with young children.

Good morning, My name is Stephanie Latini, and I am a resident of Peterborough, New Hampshire. I work in the youth development and afterschool field, and my work brings me into regular contact with families navigating childcare challenges. I am here to express my strong support for House Bill 1433. Childcare is one of the most significant barriers to workforce participation today. I routinely see parents forced to reduce hours, turn down opportunities, or leave jobs entirely because they cannot find or afford reliable care. This is not a fringe issue but a daily reality for working families. At the same time, employers are struggling. They face turnover, call-outs, and difficulty hiring, often rooted in childcare instability. Businesses want reliable employees, and employees want to work, but childcare is frequently the missing piece. House Bill 1433 is a practical, market-driven solution. By offering a tax credit that covers 50% of eligible expenses for employer-supported child care, it invites businesses to be part of the solution rather than placing the burden solely on families or the public sector. What makes this bill strong is that it: Encourages voluntary employer participation Supports working families without mandates Expands access to quality care Strengthens workforce stability and economic productivity In a state where childcare shortages already limit economic growth, this kind of incentive can create real movement. It helps employers retain talent, helps parents remain in the workforce, and ultimately supports children’s healthy development. This is a smart policy that recognizes childcare as both a family issue and an economic issue. It aligns the needs of businesses and families in a way that benefits our entire state. I respectfully urge you to support House Bill 1433. Thank you for your time and consideration.

We desperately need child care in this state. Removing any red tape that would prevent someone who wants to open a childcare facility in their home or otherwise should be something we are all in favor of doing.
