I ask you to support this bill to have the state treasurer withhold moneys owed to the federal government as a direct result of the federal government withholding existing and expected state aid to New Hampshire by means of an executive order or violation of a court order. NH can resume making payments owed to the federal government upon New Hampshire's receipt of existing or expected state aid.

If the federal gov’t withholds funds we shouldn’t have to pay them back.

The federal government has hijacked and impounded millions of dollars Granite State taxpayers have provided for programs and services., essentially waging financial war against states. Our state lawmakers can fight back by refusing to keep shoveling money into a government that doesn't respect our rights or honor its commitments.

This seems like a fair response to the federal government to me.

I support this bill which would allow the State of NH to withhold dollars until the anticipated money is received from the federal govt.

This bill is necessary to protect New Hampshire from federal funding cuts originating in Washington by executive order. Withholding payments to the federal government is one way to fiscally protect NH from executive overreach and unlawful cuts of federal aid..

This bill requires the state treasurer to withhold moneys owed to the federal government where the federal government has withheld existing or expected state aid to New Hampshire by means of an executive order or violation of a court order. The bill also authorizes the state treasurer to make payments owed to the federal government upon New Hampshire's receipt of existing or expected state aid.

This bill will hold the federal government accountable for its betrayal of the people of New Hampshire. When presidential executive orders harm our people, businesses, and economic well-being, we should refuse to participate in those harms. I support refusing to sending our hard-earned tax dollars to a punitive regime.

Taxpayer dollars are given in a civil contract that they will be used to provide everyone who lives under that government will have the same opportunities and support through hardships of life. If the federal government backs out of its duties, NH has an obligation to the people to withhold its money for the citizens benefit in the spirit of the original agreement.

A wholesale shutdown of federal aid via executive decree threatens the very stability of our communities. This bill provides the State Treasurer with the tools to stand up for Granite Staters and ensures that New Hampshire’s tax dollars are not used to subsidize a federal administration that is actively violating court orders and congressional mandates. We must protect the programs that our families rely on from unauthorized sequestration.

I support this bill. If federal funds are withheld, then the state needs to fill in part of the gap with the monies that would have been sent to the federal government.
