When I first heard about this bill making apple cider donuts our state donut, I thought it was a great idea to highlight how special New Hampshire is. Then I saw that many of my own Nashua representatives - and our incredible Senator, Cindy Rosenwald are sponsors on this bill!! I’m so proud to call Nashua New Hampshire my home. I enthusiastically ask the members of the committee to forward this bill as OTP. Soon everyone will be coming to the Granite State, to enjoy our beautiful mountains, sparkling lakes, sandy beaches….and, of course, our delicious apple cinnamon donuts!!

While simple in scope, this bill celebrates something deeply meaningful about our state: the connection between local agriculture, small businesses, community traditions, and the seasons that shape life in New Hampshire. Apple orchards, farm stands, and local bakeries are woven into our economy and our identity. For many Granite Staters, an apple cider doughnut is more than a treat; it is part of family traditions, fall festivals, and visits to the farms and small businesses that sustain our rural communities. Designating the apple cider doughnut as our state doughnut recognizes and uplifts these local institutions. It highlights New Hampshire agriculture, supports agri-tourism, and reflects a shared cultural experience that spans regions, backgrounds, and generations. It is a light but sincere way to celebrate what makes our state unique while promoting local producers and seasonal traditions that contribute to our economy and sense of place. At a time when so much of public life can feel heavy and divided, there is value in recognizing the simple traditions that bring granite staters together. HB 1390 offers an opportunity to do just that while honoring the farmers, bakers, and small business owners who help define New Hampshire.

What a great choice for the state of New Hampshire

I love this idea - it supports our orchards and bakers, and celebrates Fall in NH. I urge you to vote OTP on HB1390.

Two of my children attend Bicentennial in Nashua and I have been asked to provide testimony. The positive impact that approval of this bill will have on the entire school would be amazing. I support this bill

I highly support this bill. It is wonderful for young students to get involved in the state government at such an early age.

As a teacher at Bicentennial School in Nashua, NH I have seen how hard the students in this school have worked on getting this bill passed. Donut eaters that I know all tell me that Apple Cider donuts are their favorite. They are my favorite donut as well. In addition, Apple Cider donuts are a good representation of New Hampshire's Agricultural history, both past and present.

Our great state needs a state donut that reflects the love of our citizens! Apple cider donut for the win!

I support this bill because this donut represents the true meaning of fall in New Hampshire. It supports all the local business and farms in New Hampshire who make so many cider donuts each year.

I absolutely think the apple cider donut represents the NH state donut!

Vermont has the maple frosted donut. Maine has the blueberry donut. And, of course, Massachusetts has the "Boston cream" donut. The apple cider doughnut should absolutely be the official doughnut of the state of New Hampshire.

I believe that the Cider Donut is a symbol of something every New Hampshire person associates with the Fall, which I also think is our most beautiful season and brings the best out of what makes this State so amazing. Enjoying a Cider Donut before a Hike, with a friend over coffee, or to relax and enjoy the outside view is something that many New Hampshire natives like myself look forward to. I think this is a unifying message in a time of great divide, and would be an awesome way for us to show our New Hampshire pride over this shared snack.

Having relocated from Ohio to New Hampshire just over 10 years ago we were newly introduced to Apple Cider Donuts when we started going apple picking at Parlee Farms. It has since become a family tradition to not only go apple picking but to make sure we get so many Apple Cider Donuts while we are partaking that we don't know what to do with them. They are a vital piece of our Fall memories here in NH.

I fully support this bill! Many NH businesses are known for their take on the apple cider donut; it has been a NH staple for generations. It's about time we get to claim it officially, and proudly advertise it as the official donut of NH.

This is an amazing opportunity to show the Children of NH that their voices matter and we as a community are listening to them. They are our future and need to feel they have the power to make changes. We never know when that one new idea might change the outcome of the whole entire state.
