I think it would be good to be able to review constitutional amendments prior to needing to vote on them. This bill would aid in that process.

we the public need to know when something as important as a constitutional amendment is proposed. If we are not informed, how can we oppose such an amendment? And what does it say about transparency in our government if constitutional amendments are being proposed, promoted etc without their public announcement?

I support this bill which would require a 60 day notice be publicly posted before any voting on proposed constitutional amendments. This notice would give voters time to understand the reason for proposing the change.

Yes!! Having the SOS post on a designated page on the SOS website the upcoming constitutional amendment proposals will help reduce confusion at the polls! I am also a poll worker and am confirming for you that this WILL help us out at the polls on Election Day. I would ask that in the information on that web page, please include original text and proposed new text. The people need to see the words of the changes being proposed. Thank you for this bill!

This important Bill requires the secretary of state to create, post on the secretary of state's website, and otherwise distribute notice of proposed constitutional amendments.

Notice of proposed constitutional amendments needs to be posted in a way and in a time frame that allows voters to understand what these amendments could mean before they have to vote.

Please support HB 1247: to require the Secretary of State to create, post on the SOS website, and distribute notice of proposed constitutional amendments. These are often important bills but poorly understood. HB 1247 will get the voters a better chance to understand proposed constitutional amendments before they enter the voting booth.

Constitutional amendments can be complicated and sometimes hard to understand; therefore, the Secretary of State's office posting such amendments would allow voters to study and understand them prior to actually enter the voting booth. Please vote in favor of this bill.
