Reduces unnecessary criminalization, racial disparities, and incarceration for non-violent offenses. Also, cannabis should be legal (like alcohol is) as it has many health benefits demonstrated (unlike alcohol) in peer review studies (such as improving anxiety, PTSD, depression, etc.).

This is a start, but we really need to legalize the sale of cannabis. With the current budget shortfall, the tax revenue from legalized cannabis sale could offer a solution to make up some of that gap.

Other states have shown that cannabis possession, consumption, and sale is safe and worthy of legalization. Currently, New Hampshire is loosing a huge sum of money by not having a sale and taxation law for cannabis. New Hampshire Residents are leaving the state to purchase and consume cannabis, removing those dollars from the NH economy and putting them into our neighboring states'. Ultimately, New Hampshire must create a taxation scheme. When this happens, considerations MUST be made for anyone currently serving sentences for cannabis-related charges. We can look to Vermont's incredibly well-thought-out and effective legislation when that time comes. DO NOT leave it up to the people to vote in legalized cannabis sale - legislate this with ample consideration! In the meantime, this Bill which would de-criminalize the possession and use is an incredible, and long-overdue, first step.

New Hampshire cannot be an island of prohibition in a see of personal freedom. Allow NH adults to make their own decisions.

Just like the US flag, the state flag, and the POW/MIA flag, the rainbow flag is a sign of unity and welcoming.

It is long overdue to decriminalize cannabis in the state of NH. Every other state surrounding us has done this, and we are woefully backwards in many ways, particularly this one. People should not be fined or jailed for possessing cannabis for their own consumption. We sell alcohol on our highways. Cannabis is far less destructive to children and families. Please pass this bill.

I strongly support this bill. This bill allows people and patients legal piece of mind, so they don't have to worry about unnecessary court or possession charges, while transporting legal marajuana products home. Please support this bill.
