Please. We need this. I have a window full of mold since 2021 my landlord refuses to do anything about. I can hardly see out of it. It’s disgusting.

Vote ITL, it has many problems: ~Mold spores are everywhere. All they need is water and food. ~Many instances of mold are caused by a tenant, however the bill puts all blame for all mold squarely on the landlord. ~Something like bedbug law is needed that put responsibility on tenants and landlords depending on who is responsible. ~There are easily available low cost products now that very reliably handle mold. We don’t need heavy handed expensive regulations that increase the cost of housing. ~The bill specifically calls out extra mold enforcement provisions not used for other minimum standards

It’s important to the health of renters to quickly and effectively treat mold that may be contaminating their apartments. This should absolutely be the responsibility and duty of the landlords renting mold affected properties.

This bill should be self-explanatory as to why it is necessary in order to assure that significant mold conditions are properly remediated for the safe health and welfare of tenants.

People die from constant exposure to mold and other toxicities as their lungs become infected and diseased. This happened in a school building I taught in . There was a cluster of cancers that developed.
