This seems redundant. If someone is on the voter role already, we know they are a citizen.

this is already a requirement during candidacy registration. Again...another performative bill and a waste of taxpayer dollars

I support this bill because only US citizens and NH residents should be eligible to run for office.

I think it is sufficient for a candidate for office to prove citizenship in the US and residence in New Hampshire.

This is ridiculous, and racist

OTPA - This bill should be amended to specify naturally-born citizenship. Thanks for supporting this issue.

Hello, I don’t think this should be a law. We are supposed to be a live free or die state.

What are you planning next? A poll tax? Leave voters' rights in place.

The sponsors of this bill are fixated on things that do not happen. It is also biased to make these judgements which is where this is probably stemming from . Obama, Mamdani. The sponsors probably still believe that Obama was not a citizen. This is a bill that the sponsors should be ashamed of writing. You all make $100. Why can't you concentrate on legislation that has a real impact on people's everyday lives. This is one of the bills that is so wasteful. ITL

I oppose this bill on principle for the good of candidates regarding definition of citizenship .

This is one of those bills which solves a problem with doesn't exist. What it will do however, is to unnecessarily create barriers and confusion for eligible overseas voters.

Giving the Department of Education the authority to intervene in a school or school district during a financial emergency as well as the authority to require the school district to renegotiate its employment contracts and reallocate its resources would exclude parents and communities from decision making.

This is a "let's see just how hard we can make the voting process" bill. Shame!

A complete waste of legislative time. This does nothing to help NH residents with the things that really matter. Please do your jobs.

Okay - what is the documented real problem here. Say my spouse is from a different country and we get dual citizenship to make it easier for our kids. What difference does that make if I am going hold an office or not. If you are US Citizen you can be part of our government and who has the right to say that other activities disqualify them?

Please do not make it hard for people to vote. There is no problem here that needs to be solved. Students who are attending college in NH should be able to vote in NH, if they are residents on campus. As a professor emerita, I feel strongly that students should be involved in the civic processes of life, and this is key.
