OPPOSE

This is another attempt to bring partisan politics to school board elections.

I state my opinion for this bill for the benefit of all NH voters.

Education and state primary should be separate.

There is no reason to make this change.

This bill could result in an administrative burden for local clerks, risks confusing voters, and may mess with traditional town meeting schedules.

This bill further undermines more people taking an interest in public education not allowing them to attend two meetings at the same time. A strong NO to this bill.

Please do not bring more politics into our education system. This will just further divide us instead of letting us rally around our community schools. There is no need for this to be a partisan issue in our already divided country.

Please stop trying to inflict more control over local towns. This state relies on local control to keep our individuality and independence, that’s what sets us apart. Making these partisan moves is counter to the NH way, enough with your overreach on local government!

Good morning, VOTE NO! HB 1069 on Feb. 17, 2026. HB 1069 is another attempt to bring *partisan politics* to school board elections. It would either require additional, separate ballots without 'party declaration' or be lumped in with ballots that clearly ask a voter for their party affiliation. One is a waste of money and time; the other co-joins local school elections -HISTORICALLY A NON-PARTISAN ENDEAVOR- with the machinations of NH primary elections.
