Though this bill was originally helpful to public students' schedules who were attending CTE programming, it has now morphed into a bill that hurts public school students in favor of voucher students, charter, and private school students. Public school programming, both academic and CTE, should go to public school students FIRST. I oppose this bill.

Resident public school students have the top priority to be able to attend their district CTE. Period! Openings are proportioned to the district public High Schools.

CTE students should most definitely be able to take academics

The new amendment ruins the original bill.

The original purpose of this bill was to allow public school students attending a CTE center that is not their resident public school to be able to take core academic courses at the public school in order to lose less learning time. The newly amended version of this bill will now allow resident students to be crowded out of academic courses, and public school students wanting to take CTE classes to be crowded out by charter school, private school and voucher students.

This amended version of this bill will allow resident students to be crowded out of academic courses. Do no approve this bill!

While the original intent of this bill was to allow public school students attending a CTE center that is not their resident public school to be able to take core academic courses at the public school in order to lose less learning time, I feel that this newly amended version will now allow resident students to be crowded out of academic courses, and public school students wanting to take CTE classes to be crowded out by charter school, private school and voucher students. Supporters of these programs like to talk about "school choice" and "education freedom" a lot, but it now seems that they want to give students who have made their choice about their institution access to the resources of other schools as well. If a student wishes to take advantage of programs and opportunities like these, then they should enroll in that public school option, not simply dip into and take advantage of the system when it is convenient for them.

If charter schools are so much better than private schools they should be able to thrive without government assistance and taking from public schools.

I strongly support increased access to technical education, but not at the cost of crowding resident students from academic classes in their own school.

Students from private schools, charter schools, and voucher programs should not be given preference over residential public school students to take technical training courses that can help them get jobs.

Resident students should not be crowded out of being able to take CTE courses by students from charter schools, private schools, and school vouchers.
