Jim Avallon for Myself North Hampton Dear Members of the House Municiple and County Government Committee, Please oppose SB78! This usurpation of local control is a fetish of the sponsors of this locust of Housing bills this year. Local level control has historic precedent in NH which we, the people, have every right to maintain. As representatives of the people of NH you should therefore strive to keep control as close to the citizens as possible. It is hypocritical and shameful to support these bills and advocate for central control of zoning and planning. It takes away the voice of the citizenry, especially those who VOTE. I do not support SB78 because it is dictating to the Town how to manage its zoning appeals process. If this bill passes it gives the State momentum to swoop down and take more control. The proposed changes in this bill and all the other housing bills could and should be accomplished at the municipality level where the players know the community. They know what is good and not good for the town. One size fits all is not good policy. It is only common sense to keep it local. Thank you.
