Please support SB 73 with Amendment SB 73, as introduced, came out of the Seante Ways and Means Committee 5-0 as ought to pass. However, an amendment was passed on the Senate floor that changed the operation of bingo games by removing section 2. As a result of the Senate vote the amount remains at $4,000.00. The proposed amendment would increase the amount to $5,000.00 We are asking the House Ways and Means Committee to pass this bill with the one compromise amendment raising the maximum prize payout to $5,000.00. The original bill was presented raising the limit to $6,000.00. Bingo Halls are currently limited to $4,000.00 in bingo prizes. This amount has not been increased in 17 years (2008). This change would allow the bingo halls to have the ability to award slightly higher prizes and we feel this is a fair compromise. With more and more casinos entering the market it is making it very difficult for bingo halls to compete with what prizes the casinos can offer. We are hoping the increase to $5,000.00 would give bingo halls a tool necessary to help ensure bingo may continue for charitable purposes. Please help us with your support to allow bingo to be a viable option in supporting our local charities. Respectfully, Rhonda Lane 24 Alyssa Dr Derry, NH 603-548-9592
