Dear committee You will see SB50 “ establishing a committee to study the regulation of private animal boarding facilities. ” on 4/15 I managed and worked at boarding kennels for 20 years in NH Some good ,some bad, some terrible The last one, an 83 dog run, 14 cat cage board grooming training daycare kennel with 2000 clients I managed for 11 years This last one I managed we also held strays for towns so WERE licensed as a shelter and as such once or twice a year we were randomly inspected by the NH Department of agriculture I firmly believe every boarding , grooming and daycare facility should be licensed AND receive such an inspection annually simply to ensure cleanliness, safety, ventilation, lighting and sanitation standards You could use much of the existing AGR1700 rule standards, perhaps not the primary enclosure min sizes for daycare resting kennels or grooming kennels but most of the agr 1700 would be applicable and perhaps the inspection could be simplified but I think it’s needed. Of course a private individual babysitting their friend or relatives dogs/cats would not be required to be licensed/inspected. But a business most certainly should The time has long since come for this change I would be glad to provide more input Sincerely Diane Richardson Georges mills NH
