As the population of New Hampshire ages and the anticipated increase in those living with dementia and Alzheimer's comes to fruition, it is imperative that our Emergency Personnel have the training and resources available to in order to best serve the public. They will be face to face with difficult situations and having training in various approaches, care techniques as well as having the knowledge about dementia will become more and more important.

I have been working with Residents with Alzheimer's and Dementia almost the entirety of my career and the more education and understanding to not only the general population but specifically with EMS can drastically effect outcomes when it comes to behaviors, wandering, and immediate medical needs.

Absolutely essential. The Dept of Health and Human Services already provides excellent training modules that are required of staff and professionals working in organizations and facilities that accept Medicaid. Our first responders are front liners for whom this training would be invaluable - and helpful for both responders and individual in need.
