The current homestead exemption caps are far too low to reflect the cost of living and real estate in NH, and an upward adjustment that actually allows NH citizens to protect their home from an adverse judgment is important. Recognizing the gap between the homestead exemption cap and real estate prices, Massachusetts increased their exemption in 2024.
