The candidates Alphabetical Order system already in place (RSA 656:5-a) is designed for fairness without unnecessary complication. It's working well. This new bill would cause chaos, added expense for multiple ballot versions, and complexity where it is not needed.

My husband volunteers to help run Salem elections. He knows how well things are done by all those working and supervising the process, before, during, and after election day. It would also make their jobs ridiculously long and arduous for no good reason to hand count ballots. I am less apt to trust some people in this state these days to be honest and impartial like a machine. The election workers double and triple check the ballot machines as it is. This bill says we don't have a process that is trustworthy. I strongly disagree with this bill. I know several Town Clerks, as well as my husband, all who are “boots on the ground” involved! They validate how honest and well run things are in Salem, and the State of NH, as it is right now.

Dear Representatives, I urge you to OPPOSE this bill. This not an effort to benefit the lives of NH residents and we should not allow our reps to spend their time on efforts that do not assist our state during such unprecedented times. Please spend your time on the pressing issues residents here are facing. Thank you for your time.

The sponsor of this bill is a sore loser that is just acting out his resentment against his 2022 primary opponent, who beat him, but sadly lost in November. His opponent received top billing, fair and square, in the 4 towns that their race was in, but the sponsor could not accept that and complained to the BLC in August of 2022. He used multiple talking points, like alphabetical order(which a lottery removes such an unfair privilege), previous office status(which this was a newly created district) and other arguments that failed to overturn the lottery results. This bill is petty and personal.
