This bill allows highly respected/trained Pharmacists to offer biosimilar substitutions for pharmaceutical drugs. It's a free market approach to reducing drug prices for NH consumers. This is one of those "no-brainer" bills that would benefit ALL NH citizens. Thank you for your support.

Drug companies are out of control. Their only goal is to keep people on their expensive drugs so that they can drive obscene profits. I support this bill to bring down the costs of drugs for all Americans.

This bill came up last year. It opens up biosimilar substitutions for pharmaceutical drugs. It's a free market approach to reducing drug prices. Currently if a doctor prescribes Drug A, the pharmacist can substitute Drug B or C. If they prescribe Drug B, they can substitute Drug A, but not Drug C. This simply allows the pharmacist to recommend Drug B or C interchangeably, particularly if it saves the customer money. Big Pharma absolutely despises this bill because it will dramatically cut their bottom line, which is another reason why I fully support it!

Many families.and individuals who need specific medications are finding roadblocks in their healthcare because of lobbyist influence supporting insurance companies and major pharmaceutical corporations. The ever-shifting lists of covered medications is often the result of profit-seeking by these organizations. However, the consumer is the loser when medication costs double and triple every year and insurance coverages drop. HB117 would allow biosimilar substitutions which would not only benefit patients if their doctor approves, but also the greater market by allowing competition and safe substitution of medications. It would allow registered pharmacists to work as a team with patients and their doctors to find the best choice for the best cost. What a win for the residents of NH! Please support HB117. Having the ability to have all biosimilar drugs available for consumers helps to save money & get what they need. Pharmaceuticals should not be allowed to control the markets.

Big Pharma is not hurting for profits. They make money hand over fist while people are absolutely dependent (even addicted - SSRIs, etc.) to their medicines. The consumer should absolutely have the advantage of getting the lowest cost possible on these medications. No American should ever have to choose between medication and groceries or rent. This will be a welcome step in helping people afford necessities especially as they age.

Big Pharma has done enough to harm the public over decades of lobbying and lining the pockets of our politicians and physicians. If we learned anything from recent history, everyone should be alarmed when a patient’s choice of medication(s) is between Big Pharma and a Pharmacist, rather than the Pharmacist and the patient. If a patient chooses to spend their money on a Brand medication, that is their prerogative. However, when Big Pharma colludes with Pharmacies and Pharmacists on limiting the patient’s choices to fill a prescription, that removes any and all freedom of choice from the patient. This is wrong. ALL of the medications/versions/variations and their individual prices should be presented to the consumer to allow THEM to make the choice on which of the versions of a medication they purchase. This is what America is all about. Freedom. That freedom should also extend to the residents of New Hampshire as well.
